The horses at the Ranch are very much a herd and are able to live in a natural setting with minimal human driven restrictions. This simple attention to their needs gives them a confidence that comes from living a life free of stables, shoes, unsuitable diet and other needless practises!
Each knows their place in the herd, which creates security and minimises anxiety. This lifestyle means that they are confident in who they are and are very much present in their encounters with visitors.
Darcey ~ 26 yrs Welsh Section D A gentle, powerful mare who holds the herd and extends this nurturing ability to humans; being particularly good working with females. Darcey shows us calm, female energy.
Rain ~ 24 yrs Dartmoor This Alpha mare is a great herd member, but will choose to spend time away within human company in which she excels at interactions and child-led sessions. Rain shows us strength and yet gentleness; power and patience.
Fenella ~ 21yrs Miniature x Exmoor Quirky and independent, but still very much one of the herd. Fen is wonderful with small people with endless tolerance. Fenella shows us independence and friendship.
Coco ~ 15 yrs WPB A flouncy, fancy, nosey ex-show pony with endless capacity to be loved and pampered by children! Coco shows us beauty and curiosity.
Buffy ~ 22 yrs American Quarter Horse . We have been blessed with this wonderful horse who brings everything you'd hope to find in a best friend. She has all the western moves so is the coolest! Buffy brings experience, generosity and kindness.
Miia ~ 3 year old TB. Left racing after deciding it just wasn't her bag! Her trainer and stable staff all recognised that she needed a different kind of life and she joined us at the Ranch. She is a baby and her future now takes a very different turn... Miia brings life, love and new beginnings.
